The story of Ananias

It all began in New York City in 1984. Joern, a German national, immigrated to the USA in 1983 to start a new life and began selling Greek sandals and bags at street fairs and crafts markets. His love for Greece and the artisan work of Greek sandal and bag makers brought these products to a very accepting audience since sandals and bags in the unfinished natural leather were almost non existing during the early eighties. No Internet was available to find these products easily from other parts of the world . Soon, Joern openend his first shop in the West Village in Manhattan and also started to supply his sandals and bags through wholesale throughout the United States and beyond, to mainly unique boutiques who were intriqued by this unique product.

In 2001 Joern and his family moved to Greece and started to create sandals himself and working with others to be able to supply the growing demand of his sandals.

Joern takes part in design, leather selection and production as well as business administration and sales.
